mad science week

make something monday: flubber
why are gooey things so fun? it's a rule. we also made some pink martian mud later in the week. i got the flubber recipe from pinterest... the secret is the borax, which is hard to find, but mike sigl already owned some cause he is cray cray with cleaning supplies.

time to read tuesday: science books
here is something i learned about science while at the library. it encompasses everything! gosh. we went to pick books from the science section and the girls asked what was considered a science book. i was like, "well these experiment books and these books on the human body and these weather books and space books and dinosaur books and all these math books and"... on and on for days. science is crazy.

what's cookin' wednesday: disappearing marshmallow rolls
these were a huge flop. these are also called resurrection rolls and done at easter with kids, you know? anyway, you are supposed to roll a marshmallow in butter and cinnamon/sugar and then wrap it up in a crescent roll and through the magic of baking... the marshmallow disappears! cool. except ours didn't disappear, they leaked out and exploded all over the pan. i don't know what we did wrong... maybe the rolls weren't sealed up tight enough?

be thoughtful thursday: free lemonade stand
i don't know what makes this project science related, but something i'm sure. the girls just really wanted to do it and this was our last chance. we went to the park and gave out free lemonade and cookies we baked. it went okay... people were very skeptical of us. you know the saying, you can't get anything for free? a lot of people believe that and think you are up to no good if you say you are giving something away. hopefully, we made somebody feel a little better about humanity. we did serve the anthis girls and it was fun to see them!

somewhere fun friday: the pacific science center
such a fun place, BUT tragedy most tragic... i forgot my camera. iphone pics are all i have. sad, sad story.
