15 month check up

so, i know i'm a big weirdo, but we took heath for his 15 month check up and the lighting was just really great in the waiting room and i had to take so many pictures. i'm thinking about starting a photography business where i only take casual photos of kids in a doctor's office waiting room in the late morning on overcast days. it's going to be very successful. anyway, our regular doctor, lucy, is on sabbatical, so we saw somebody different and heath did not like any part of the visit and got many shots. BUT no shots at his 18 month, so probably worth it? he is still tiny bodied and giant headed, but we think we'll keep him anyways since we like his face.

12 month check up

we took heath for his twelve month check up and having a walking child that loves to climb underneath things at a doctor's office is a delight! heath just spent almost an hour practically naked on the floor. whatevs, man. everything looks good, and heath is reaching all the normal milestones... even with his tiny body and gigantic head. he totally remembered that the table was where he had to get shots, so he lost his marbles every time we would try and put him on it. as you can see in the pictures, he got his exam in my lap. then we put him on the table and he got shots. he loved them! no. no he did not, but he WILL love the lack of measles in his life. lucy thinks heath is so funny and cute because he IS so funny and cute... say his totally unbiased parents.

9 month check up

we took heath in for his nine month check up and it was such an easy one. no shots. that's extra nice because i know the 12 month check up is a real bad one when it comes to vaccinations. heath looked healthy and lucy said she is not concerned about his gigantic head and little body. oh, our little bobble head... we love him so.

4 year check up

we took beckett to get his 4 year check up a little early, which turned out to be super annoying because we couldn't get any of his vaccinations done since he wasn't officially 4. so now he keeps getting surprise shots during heath's checkups. as you can imagine, he loves this. anyways... his actual check up was great. he is right on track and besides being a little allergy train wreck, is doing well. he still had trouble with the eye exam, but nobody seemed concerned. we should actually probably take him to an eye doctor, since both his parents have junkie vision. my eye doctor was actually like, "yes! get him in! not to me though! i don't do kids. like at all." oooookay then. in conclusion... here are some pictures of our {almost} 4 year old getting checked up. he is just the cutest kid i know.

6 month check up

heath's six month check up went fine. they had to measure his head size and height twice because they seemed off, but they weren't. he just has a gigantic head and a short little body. i think they actually recorded his height as taller than it really is... 26 inches was generous. beckett has always measured really tall, but heath is just a tiny guy. matt was really short as a child though too, and now... he clearly is not. heath spent most of the appointment eating lucy's stethoscope (she made sure to clean it before giving it to him) and making sure to be extra cute, so shots would seem extra sad. it worked. as an extra special surprise for beckett, we got him a flu shot at the appointment. he loved it! no, not true. i also got one... flu shots for everybody! i do love the convenience of using a family doctor for stuff like this. and i do love immunizations. since i have the option, i think i will just let my kids skip the chance of getting whooping cough and measles, thank you very much.

4 month check up

heath's four month check up went pretty well. we learned he is incredibly short and now i have a tiny little fear, that he is going to have matt's build and my height and be shaped like a cube. at least he will be the cutest cube you ever did see. he had to get more shots and this time a resident came to do them and i think they might have been the first shots he had ever given a baby. i kind of wanted to tell him that i totally understand that he has to start somewhere, but that somewhere just can't be my kid. i didn't though... and he was slower than i would have liked, but other than that it was fine. heath is totally easy at the doctor and is just right on track. he is the most precious and we love his face!

2 month check up

heath's two month checkup went great. the thelen's were in town for it and jenni and coen used to go to dr. lucy too, so they came along to say hi. it was a little hectic and lucy kicked everyone out after a bit, but i'm sure she loved seeing her old patients. heath got shots, but the nurse was so quicky quick and he did fine. lucy thinks heath is the happiest and cutest and of course healthy too!
