kyle and vickie visit

our friends from college, kyle and vickie were passing through washington on their way to canada and we got to meet up with them for dinner. matt and kyle lived on the same dorm floor freshman year of college and were roommates their sophomore, junior, and senior years. so... that's a lot of living together. kyle was in our wedding and i thiiiink he didn't start dating vickie until after matt and i were married. is this true? i can't remember. i'm old. anyways, kyle and vickie got married last year, but sadly we missed the wedding because it was the same day as kate and zac's wedding. wedding twins! it was good to see them, even for just a bit and probably we should take a trip to visit them in colorado. soon and very soon.

when we got back from graduation in eugene, we threw saige a graduation open house. i decided to do a picnic theme... with saige's favorite lunch foods.

for decor i just used a lot of mason jars with wild flowers and plain white ikea frames with pictures of saige from college. i hung up her graduation cards and made a simple circle banner and the end. really, the trickiest part was making the circle labels for all the food. other than that, easy peasy. and i think it turned out really, pretty cute. and pretty saige-ish. i hope. she better not have secretly hated it. now, here are many pictures of the party set up and many pictures of saige with many party guests. oh! thanks to oma for helping out with the party. we wish you could have come and celebrated with us!

our duck graduates

saige graduated from college! what?! i know, i can't believe four years passed that quickly either. she graduated with a dual major in public relations and journalism and a minor in environmental studies. we are just too, too proud of baby saige. she finished in four years with a great gpa and worked as an ra and had a million other part time jobs and handled it all and now she is done! so, that's scary, but also exciting. her future is waiting! ahh. congratulations to saige! be proud of what you've accomplished because it's a pretty big deal.

it was crazy hot. we were the most sad about it. 

holly lived across the hall from saige in the dorms freshman year. i made saige introduce herself to holly. i thought they would for sure become friends... and they did and now they are forever friends! i'm so wise. 

while we packed up saige's room these lazy bums just sat in the hallway eating tortilla chips.
