saint patrick's day

we had our usual st. patrick's day group over for dinner, minus the dunne's who moved practically a million miles away for who knows why. per the usual, i took pictures of no things except for children. it's how i do. we did eat corned beef and cabbage and drank beer. except i didn't... because beer is gross. i took no pictures of that, you will just have to trust me. hope you all had some good luck o' the irish... i definitely feel lucky to have all these adorable little people in my life.

you just need to always be looking at sawyer belle in these group shots because when i looked through them all, she kind of killed me.

saint patrick's day

for saint patrick's day we had our annual corned beef and cabbage dinner party at the kreitlow's house. since beckett doesn't really have a good grasp of time yet (everything in the past happened yesterday and everything in the future is happening tomorrow) we have been using holidays to help him understand when his new brother is coming. we started way back at thanksgiving, telling him first we had thanksgiving, then christmas, then new years, then his birthday, then valentine's day, then saint patrick's day, then easter, THEN the baby comes! he can repeat the whole list of holidays in order, counting down to baby day. when he woke up on saint patrick's day, he announced... "now just easter and then i'm a big brother! we are getting pretty close!" ahhhh! yes, we are, it is getting a little stressful. good thing i could calm my nerves by stuffing my face with the guinness chocolate cupcakes natasha made. that helped a lot.

st patty's party

here is the truth. we are not irish. not even a little. it seems especially crazy for me, with my red hair and fair skin and "excitable" temperament, but still no. it's okay though. we still like to celebrate saint patrick. and wear green. and eat corned beef and cabbage. and drink beer. and party! wooooo.

this pinterest popcorn recipe was real good! here it is...
pop some popcorn (about 12 cups)
melt 1 stick of butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar in microwave
add 1/2 a bag of mini marshmallows into butter mixture
microwave again for about 1 minute until melted
(i added some green food dye to the marshmallow mixture)
pour over popcorn and mix
eat it all
