beckett, saige, and i flew down to california to hang out with my family for five days. i was pretty terrified to travel without matt, but he couldn't miss that much work. i had a lot of help with b and it actually wasn't too bad, but b missed his dad a lot (as did i) and we hopefully will all get to travel together as a family next time. we had a fun trip and hopefully beckett's adorableness will lure some california peeps up to the northwest for a visit!
saige's friend from school, eric, stopped by on his drive home to san diego. saige was probably really excited when i chased after her out of the house with a baby strapped to my chest to take her picture. totally necessary for blogging documentation!
beckett loves the nordstrom bathrooms! who doesn't?
third street promenade. saige and i did a little shopping, of course. i actually only bought one thing, and am having buyers remorse about it. what is that?! it is crazy because every store on third street, we have up in seattle, but i am still excited to shop here when i come to visit.
oh... dinosaur plants...
we met a monk from new zealand who gave saige this book on self realization. i seriously question his credibility as a monk (his proof was a shaved head), but saige thought he was cute so we talked to him about how yoga was sooooo much more than just an exercise.
my aunt lana, cousin heather, and second cousin garette came and took us to lunch in santa monica and...
aunt lana adopted a dog! there was a outdoor adopt a pet thing right by the restaurant and she just had to have this furry friend. his name is miso. yes, like the soup.
she is very excited about miso! she is a serious dog lover. serious.
my tante lorle and uncle bill came over for dinner and dessert to celebrate my birthday (the 3rd) and my oma's birthday (the 7th). my oma made this strawberry cake and it was delicious. really, everything she makes is delicious. i most certainly left her house a little heavier than when i got there. why is her german food so magical?
beckett really really loved my tante lorle. he thought she was the funniest person he had ever met. she is pretty funny. probably we could make a video of her for children to watch and make millions!
on father's day we had a brunch date with my friend stephanie. my dad was stuck in oceanside with a kidney stone (boo!) and matt was far away too, but stephanie made a great fill in dad. b loved meeting her and i loved seeing her face too.
a trip to santa monica wouldn't be complete without a beach visit, but that deserves its own post. this one is getting long enough!
