just keep kicking

natasha's hubby, jon, used to be a soccer coach at lil' kickers... but now he is not. probably he misses it a lot. so, lucky for him, we offered to let him teach our tiny soccer stars. actually, jon so graciously agreed to teach some soccer lessons at the park over the summer, while the weather is just oh so nice. so i organized it, and we met once a week and picnicked after each class and it was pretty fun. and now our kids are really great soccer players. they'll probably be trying out for the sounders any day now. so many pictures...

i can't even...

lil kickers

beckett and quinn are becoming soccer stars! really just quinn. beckett only participates about half the time. the class is cute though and i love those tiny jerseys. since we were slackers and signed up late, we have to drive out to the seattle location for classes. it's okay though... it is only half full of seattle hipster parents. ha. i am excited to have officially begun beckett's sports activities life. here's to a future of soccer and swimming and whatever else he wants to play. go team go.

all the pictures are pretty terrible because i just had my little crappy camera, which is already kind of on the fritz and all the pictures are action shots. maybe i will bring the good camera next time, but probably i will forget.

lil kickers

last weekend we took beckett to a trial soccer class. we decided that beckett is probably not old enough to play soccer. and by beckett... i mean any 18 month to two year old. it was total chaos. a bunch of toddlers trying to run a soccer obstacle course? ridiculous. it was also quite the emotional roller coaster for beckett. the coach kept getting out super fun things to play with and then taking them away. not cool, thought beckett. first a tunnel! hurray! then no more tunnel. tears of sadness. then bubbles! magical! then no more bubbles. spastic running while crying. then... as a grande finale... a parachute! the best thing to ever happen! then no more parachute. open weeping over the loss. lil kickers is a super cute program and we are definitely going to do it with beckett. probably starting next year sometime. i think in the meantime we will do something a little less demanding... like gymboree. oh! we are also starting boogie woogie music class next week. fun!
