kate and zac got married!

on june 16th katelyn and zachary tied the knot! the wedding was beautiful and romantic and luckily i  was fortunate enough to experience it and be part of it, but unluckily i took no pictures. like nothing. we were so wrapped up in wedding stuff and i just kept thinking, "oh, other people are taking pictures, it will be fine" and now i am home with no pictures and it is the saddest. taking no pictures was the wrong choice... i see that now. below are some (low quality... sorry, they were taking five years to download) pictures that came from allen and terry's camera. hopefully, i will start to get pictures from other people and i will post them. and of course there are professional photos coming. anyways, matt and i were honored to be included in the wedding party and we are so happy for the newlyweds. they are currently relaxing on the beach in mexico... lucky ducks!

welcome to the planet, connor william and hope elizabeth

on june 7th (my oma's bday!) the first two baker babies were delivered by misty via c-section. raise your hand if you are shocked that misty delivered before amber. i am raising my hand. connor and hope were both almost six pounds and totally ready to be welcomed into the world. they came early, early in the morning and the bakers spent thursday at the hospital recovering and were taking visitors starting friday. of course i wanted to go visit on friday... right away. sad story though, the family that i nanny for had a nasty bug that was hitting them one at a time. i was nervous that b and i had probably been exposed. and i couldn't be the monster that exposed a family with two brand new itty bitties to a flu bug. so i waited... until sunday. it was torture, but good news, we did not get sick and somehow jane avoided it too. matt went to the hospital on friday and met them and took pictures and i cried at home, full of jealousy. we took them dinner on sunday (minus brian who was off to get madison and victoria who were born on june 8th) and i died over their tiny cuteness. they are the most precious and misty is a very natural mom and i just love the whole situation. we haven't met madison and victoria yet, but no worries... i am fixing that tomorrow. pictures of them to come. i can't wait to see the whole family together! eeeeeeep. so many baker babies! i love it!!!

swimming lessons are not his favorite

jane was taking swim lessons for a few weeks and the swim instructor said that beckett was old enough to take lessons too, but it would be nice to have more kids his age. well, i just so happen to know some kids that are his age... how convenient. i called whitney and told her what a good deal it was and she was in with quinn and i called lonnie and told her she didn't have to get in the water and she was in with harper. getting in the pool is really the biggest hassle ever... so i was excited too to be able to skip out on the getting in a swimsuit part. anyways, the first class went badly. beckett mostly held it together, but was not happy. by the last class beckett was crying his face off the entire time (poor ellen) until we would decide to give up and let him get out. i would not call it a successful experience. harper got better every time and by the last class she was leaping off the edge of the pool like a little miss brave pants. she loved it and could probably be swimming by the end of summer if she stays in lessons. quinn was pretty neutral about it by the end and whitney  was in the pool with him. jane improved a lot in the three weeks and was a lot more comfortable by the end and going under water... which is the biggest battle for most kids. i think we are going to take a swimming lesson break for a few months and just try going in the water with b so he stops hating swimming pools! hopefully the weather will start cooperating and stop pretending that it is october. oh... you can see more sad pictures on lonnie's blog! linkie link... the kings chronicle

cortney is like totally thirty

it's true people... on june 3rd, i officially entered my 30's... which is crazy business! i feel good about it though, pretty much. i have a nice home, an education, an awesome marriage, the cutest toddler on the planet (i understand that i am biased), wonderful friends and family, what more could i want? well, one thing. i kind of wish i had won the lottery by now. i guess i'll keep working on that in my 30's. in the next 10 years i look forward to continuing my education (time to get my masters, finally!) and growing my family even more and going on lots of adventures. lots of good stuff to remember from my 20's and lots of good stuff to look forward to in my 30's. shoot. that's a lot of good stuff. anyway... matt threw me a rad 80's party on saturday. why in the heck did 80's stuff go out of style? side ponies... neon everything... leg warmers. it was a magical time. thanks to everyone who came to celebrate... you're like totally awesome, for sure.

natasha had never heard of designing women... which was crazy because she totally came dressed as one.

saige decided to go classy 80's. (we quickly found out that saige doesn't know much about the 80's.) in the end she looked like my mom. you're welcome for posting this picture saige. thanks for coming up.

family picture... b hates the 80's. i love them.

turning 30 is the worst... psych!
