i don't even know what to say about this. my uncle made it...

a professional chef

i took this video of beckett earlier this week. it is amazing to me in about a million ways. i can't handle his little brain and how it figures stuff out and works all on it's own and that i grew that working brain in my belly! seriously? it blows my mind. how did he know that was a play kitchen? and to find a spatula to stir with? and to pretend to sample his food?! and serve some to me?!?! what is happening?!?!?! watching kids learn and do stuff is like... the coolest. 

anyway, i emailed the video of my little genius child to my grandma and uncle jack and my uncle wrote back that beckett was going to start saying, "bam!" soon. and i wrote back that matt hates emeril and hopefully beckett would not become a mini emeril. side note: matt hates a lot of tv chefs... emeril, bobby flay, rachael ray, etc. mostly because he feels like they are sell outs and will endorse crazy things (like fast food chains) just for the money. he especially hates emeril because he has a band and he thinks that is very pretentious. side side note: what happened to emeril? i seriously have not heard of him lately. back to my point... my uncle sent me this picture. his photo shopping never gets old to me.

i seriously laughed out loud when i got this picture from my uncle. look at his tiny head on a man body. ridiculous. 

a family visit!

so... this past week we had a fun visit with my dad, my oma, and my uncle jack. now better known as papa, uhr oma, and... still uncle jack. they made the trek up all the way from santa monica, by car! luckily, my uncle drives like a maniac, so they made crazy good time on the 20 hour trip. this was my oma's first trip to the northwest and her first visit to my home. we were really excited to have them up here and wanted to show my oma some of the seattle sites, although i'm sure she was more interested in hanging out with beckett, but really, who can blame her? he is a pretty fun time. we did manage to spend a little time at pike market, in madison park, in downtown kirkland, and we even checked out arenanet (matt's work) and dizzy's bus stop (saige's work). this was also the first time my dad had gotten to see b since he was born... so we had lots of good beckett time. and beckett was pretty good, even though a 3rd tooth popped up today! he is a tooth growing maniac! check out a few pics from our visit below. we hope everyone had a good time, and decides to come visit again!

my uncle jack (b's great uncle!) loves to "enhance" photos i've taken with photoshop. i thought i should display one of his artistic renderings. i think the chest hair really adds that special extra something this picture was missing.
