'merica!

the 4th of july is weirdly one of my favorite holidays. i say weirdly because in general i'm not much of a summer fan, but i make an exception for this day. i love how laid back it is, no pressure to buy gifts or make fancy food or dress up. and it's still so fun... with parades, s'mores, patriotic clothes, lovin' on our country, fireworks! so, now you can feel extra bad for me when you hear that i got sick in the middle of the night and was in bed the entire day of the 4th. i missed all the things. i could even cruelly hear fireworks out my window, but not see them. we had big plans to go to the bothell parade, bbq at the kreitlows, and see fireworks at maltby church. matt bravely took the boys to everything without me. so here are the pictures... without my face, and not just because i was taking them all like usual. maybe in 50 years i won't remember that i wasn't there, but it's unlikely. i'll probably still be bitter. boooo! we love america though! we really do!

4th of july!

we had a super busy and fun 4th of july! i was a little worried that we had over packed our schedule with a two month old on board, but we decided to just do one thing at a time and see how the day went and we did all the things. we are two kid having pros!

in the morning we went to the bothell parade. whitney got there about two days early so we would have seats. people seriously had lawn chairs set out on the side of the road days in advance. what? people be crazy. the parade was fun, especially for the kids who were in it for the candy... and there was a lot. it was a looooong parade and it was hot out, so i was not one bit sad when it ended.

after the parade we went to the friske's house for a bbq. beckett loved running around like a crazy person and eating a hundred raspberries off of the bushes. beckett loves picking berries. i don't even want to think about how many spiders that kid has probably eaten. the friske's have like a bunch of tiny shed house type things on their property... so they are making one of them into a play house. fun! the big kids (beckett is now a "big" kid?! ha!) locked themselves in the playhouse for hours and we could just hear them scream laughing in there. i tried to go take pictures, but they did not want people opening the doors!

we went home for a small rest and to change into warmer clothes and then over to the kreitlows for s'mores and sparklers. elisa and i decided to dress like twins for the evening because we are weirdos. just kidding... it really wasn't planned.

then we went to maltby assembly for the firework show. it was SO good. you are wasting your time going anywhere else! we were definitely all wiped out after such a big day, but everything was so fun and definitely worth it! happy independence day! (ignore heath's face in our family picture... oh my word.)
