saige is twenty four!

on saige's real birthday we went to her house and everybody brought one of her favorite foods and we had a weird mixture of disgusting things for dinner. nothing individually was disgusting (except maybe the burger king chicken fries), but it was a strange group of foods to be eating together. we were in charge of bringing taco truck tacos... if you're wondering. 

anyways, that weekend for her birthday party, we went to a beach in seattle and roasted s'mores. since yiayia was here, matt and i got to go kid free and i can't say i hated it. plus, beckett thinks the beach and s'mores are the worst. or maybe not. happy birthday to auntie saige... the time is flying by. it seems like just yesterday i was doing your hair in a million braids to look like dreadlocks for your birthday party because we are the strangest and here you are now all grown up and with zero braids in your hair. and a year away from being a quarter of a century! duh duh duh. next year we'll do a million braids again for sure. 

nick is thirty

the dunne family was in town visiting the last few days because nick came to shoot a wedding (katie and travis! travis is whitney's little brother!) and nick turned thirty while he was here! so exciting! saige anna planned a party for him at alki beach and it was super fun. they had a beach bonfire and we made s'mores. i ate so many my stomach hurt, but no regrets. i tried to take pictures of not just kids, but i am just terrible at it. kids are just really cute no matter what. and there were a lot of kids there! annnnd... the friendos were reunited and it felt so good. they had to do a lot of friendly wrestling and being thrown around. we were so happy to spend some time with the dunnes and i hope the trip (and this blog post) makes them miss seattle terribly and they move back. just kidding, but not really. the dunnes left the birthday bonfire and drove straight through the night back to napa. whoa. they're wild. here are really too many pictures, but i love them all!

saige's bday re-do

saige was out of town for her birthday, so we did a birthday do over the next weekend. a lot of saige's life revolves around her food choices... so a lot of the day revolved around food. except we searched everywhere for artichokes and could not find them anywhere! and they were going to accompany the slow cooker tacos and mozzarella sticks perfectly! alas, what could be done? we also went to waverly beach park... to get our beach on. i don't know why i typed that. sorry. anyway, we are so happy to get to celebrate a late birthday with saige... who is for surely feeling 22.
