after dinner we drove out to maltby with the bakers to watch fireworks. we met up with the kreitlows (who just moved to maltby!) and the kings in a field to watch fireworks that were put on by a local church. i was skeptical, BUT they were SO good. the show was so long and it was right in front of our faces! i do not even know how that church could afford so many big fireworks, but i was impressed. and i loved that it wasn't super, crazy crowded and we didn't have to arrive three years in advance to get a good spot. we will probably, for sure go to maltby for fireworks for the rest of our days. in conclusion, we had a great fourth of july, which is good because now there are no good holidays until halloween (the BEST holiday) which is forever away. gah. happy birthday america!!!

4th of july
after the fun, fun parade, we came home and hung out for awhile on the 4th. in the late afternoon we went over to the bakers for dinner. the thelens and haights came over too. we had lots of american themed foods. just kidding... i don't even know what that means...nothing is really from america. maybe corn? we did have corn on the cob. misty made fried pickles and saige made delicious macaroni and cheese and we made flag dessert kabobs. yum.

kirkland parade
on the fourth we started the day with the kirkland parade! we almost didn't go because we were lazy bums, but the weather was a little overcast and not too hot and not too cold and pretty perfect, so we decided to rally and meet everybody down there. it was a very good choice! i'm so glad we went. beckett loved it! he waved flags and was really serious about the national anthem and got bead necklaces and inhaled way too much candy. plus, just going to watch misty's dad, brian watch the parade was reason enough to be there. he is the most enthusiastic parade watcher. it's wonderful. he especially loved the uni-cyclists, who were pretty impressive. whitney and quinn got down to the parade site very early and saved everybody very good (really... like the best) seats! thanks friends! it was a great way to spend our 4th of july morning!
