egg huntin'

we met with harper, sawyer, and quinn to do an egg hunt at woodinville park before easter. it was full insanity. it was weirdly warm, and so crowded, and the kids were broken up by age and parents were not supposed to go onto the hunt field, but they did and it was nutso. sawyer was on a different field than everyone else, and quinn thought the child stampede was terrifying, but harper and beckett stuck together and got some eggs. also, can we just talk about how a million easter eggs thrown onto a flat grass area is not a "hunt". am i right? also, the easter bunny looked scary, per the usual. even though i thought the whole thing was ridiculous, i think beckett thought it was fun... and that's the most important thing, yes?

welcome to the planet, clayton zachary

we are so, so happy for kate and zac, who welcomed a new baby boy into the world! he is just too precious and i am just too sad to be so far away and not able to travel. hopefully i will deliver a little cousin bestie for this sweet boy and they can meet very soon! i am so thrilled for kate and zac and really excited to watch them take on the new role of parents; they are going to do a great job! and i am only a little jealous of kate and her outside of her body baby. i can't wait to meet him in person! congratulations to kate and zac and your beautiful family of three!

tiptoe through the tulips

whitney and i took the boys to the tulip festival and i was a little scared that whitney might have to deliver my baby in a tulip field, but good news... she didn't! the tulip fields are so beautiful and wonderful and i just love that i live so close to them! they are my all time favorite flower and mount vernon is just such a cute little town and what is not to love?! i'm not sure beckett and quinn would have picked tulip fields as their top weekend activity choice, but they still had fun hanging out together. anyways, if we totally ignore when quinn threw up all over the sidewalk after lunch (which we will) it was a great day!

oh baby, it's sprinkle time

saige (with the help of lonnie and natasha) threw me a very adorable sprinkle. the theme was... literally sprinkle, like as in lightly raining. it was good for me because i do love the rain and this year april showers will bring a may baby! jen sigl graciously offered up her home, again! my first shower, for beckett was at her house too. so now it's a tradition. all my baby showers will be there! not that i have so many left in my future! ;) anyways, it was a special night with a few good friends and little baby boy and i felt very loved and blessed. thank you so very much to my hostesses and everybody that attended. i am excited for you all to meet a sweet new tiny boy very soon!

allie came up and surprised me for the sprinkle. and i was seriously surprised. i can't believe everybody kept it a secret. matt and saige are both pretty bad liars and i'm usually super nosy and always figure things out. i couldn't even process it when she showed up at our front door. so sneaky! it was so great having her here for the party and the weekend. beckett especially loved having a sleep over buddy. we can't wait to see her again soon when baby comes!

maternity photos

the dunne family came up for a visit to photograph a wedding (that i helped with day of and it was beautiful) and it was just oh so convenient to have nick take some maternity pictures. i was a big, huge butt head during the session. i am way more uncomfortable at the end of this second pregnancy, and we were wrangling a toddler for pictures, and the weather was really not cooperating. i really wanted spring like photos...outside, somewhere in a flower field or meadow or some other ridiculous place and it was just raining and raining. and i just moped around complaining about my hair frizzing and the weather being the worst and how disappointed i was in everything... including a rainbow that came out. yes. i hated the rainbow. anyways, i apologize to my family and nick for being a monster. luckily, nick is really very talented and the pictures still turned out great and you can't even tell how grouchy i was. so... you should be even more impressed with these photos. here are some of them... i had trouble picking, that's how much i liked them. thanks for the pictures and for not punching me in the face, nick!
