arena babies

i am behind in my posting... geez! last weekend, we went to a play date at matt's work. there is a play group that meets at his office once a month for people with babes who are under three. beckett thought that matt's office was pretty much really cool. he especially liked the apple juice (more the bottle than the actual juice), animal crackers, and the ping pong balls. b also did a little work at his dad's desk. he is so efficient. i also noticed while we were there that the only picture matt has of beckett at work is from the day he was born. crazy talk. don't worry... i sent him with a new frame (that saige bought matt as a graduation gift and never gave to him. guess what saige? he has his frame! he loves it, thanks.) and a new picture the very next day. i know, crisis averted.

a professional chef

i took this video of beckett earlier this week. it is amazing to me in about a million ways. i can't handle his little brain and how it figures stuff out and works all on it's own and that i grew that working brain in my belly! seriously? it blows my mind. how did he know that was a play kitchen? and to find a spatula to stir with? and to pretend to sample his food?! and serve some to me?!?! what is happening?!?!?! watching kids learn and do stuff is like... the coolest. 

anyway, i emailed the video of my little genius child to my grandma and uncle jack and my uncle wrote back that beckett was going to start saying, "bam!" soon. and i wrote back that matt hates emeril and hopefully beckett would not become a mini emeril. side note: matt hates a lot of tv chefs... emeril, bobby flay, rachael ray, etc. mostly because he feels like they are sell outs and will endorse crazy things (like fast food chains) just for the money. he especially hates emeril because he has a band and he thinks that is very pretentious. side side note: what happened to emeril? i seriously have not heard of him lately. back to my point... my uncle sent me this picture. his photo shopping never gets old to me.

february photo a day

when i was looking around on pinterest, i saw a pin for a photo a day challenge that i decided to do using an iphone app called instagram. if you have an iphone or another phone that has apps you should get instagram. i love it! anyways, below is the photo a day challenge sheet and my february photos! i did every single day. my little ocd heart would allow nothing less. i am also doing a march photoaday with all beckett pictures. thrilling, i know, but you'll just have to wait until the end of the month to see them.

a sprinkle for baby king

on wednesday night we had a little surprise shower for lonnie and baby sawyer who is on her way... coming in march! lonnie was so surprised! well, maybe not SO surprised, but pretty surprised. whitney, natasha, and i planned a milk and cow print theme... with hearts. i'll be honest, the theme started to get away from us a little bit. part way through the planning process, i really wasn't sure what was going on, but i think it turned out so cute in the end. hurray. we had dinner, and delicious cakes for dessert, and lonnie opened up all the super adorable clothes she got for sawyer. she got some real goodies. lonnie has almost everything she needs for baby number two, thanks to harper (aka baby number one), but a girl can never have enough clothes and the girls are different seasons. it was a lovely night celebrating lonnie and we are all eagerly anticipating sawyer's arrival. i can only imagine another harper look-a-like coming out... i can't wait to meet her and see if i'm right! 

 beckett says, "um... why do dad and i have to eat alone in the kitchen?"
