paint the town

last friday i took grace and jane to paint pottery at university village. my dad and saige were visiting and they kept beckett... so it was a girls day! i had a fun time painting pottery, eating cupcakes, and shopping with the ladies, but i did miss b a tiny bit. beckett had a fun time with papa and aunt saige at juanita beach park and eating frozen yogurt! lucky him.

getting crafty week

make something monday: monogrammed library tote bags

this was an adorable pinterest idea in theory. you were supposed to use a doily and paint on top of it to make a pattern... the tricky part is the website was not in english and i couldn't figure out what kind of paint they used. i ended up getting fabric spray paint and it was terrible, it just blobbed out everywhere and ruined the bag. we ended up using tempera paint and it was okay, but not great. this craft could use some serious fine tuning... and instructions i can read. we painted our nails with glitter polish. what says craft week more than glitter?! nothing.

time to read tuesday: craft books

the library was having a contest where you could win an instant prize. for the younger kids (jane) you just had to guess the character pictured. for the older kids (grace) it was an excerpt from a book that had to be guessed. it was especially tricky because i don't think it was even a book grace could have possibly read... she barely made the age group. guess who won and who didn't?

what's cooking wednesday: zucchini cookies

the girls had brought fresh zucchini back from their weekend trip and we decided to use it. really... baking anything is crafty. here is the recipe, we added chocolate chips and they were delicious! whole wheat zucchini cookies we also went to ikea because... why not?

be thoughtful thursday: hidden money

this is a cute idea, that i got off... pinterest! we made little notes that said, "here is $1 to pay for your treat!" then we went to the craft store and picked out things we liked in the dollar bins. we taped a dollar with the note to the back of the thing and put it back. now whoever picks out that toy will already have the money to pay for it! hurray!

yiayia and papou visit

last weekend yiayia and papou came to see us for a quick visit. it was very quick... too quick. we did have a fun time eating tacos at the park and allie got to meet the sweet baker babies. she held madison almost the whole time, so now they are besties. come back and visit us again soon, for longer than two seconds next time!
