penelope is four!

penelope turned four at the end of the month and had an out of this world space themed party. do you see what i did there? clever, clever. we enjoyed rocket dogs for lunch and played with martian mud and penelope wore a full astronaut suit, of course. it's so fun to have a childhood friend who lives so close to me and has a kid so close in age to mine. and now she is having another baby... who will be exactly a year younger than heath. which will be not such a big difference in a few years time. i love it. in conclusion, here are photos. happy birthday to feisty little penelope. she's a girl who knows what she likes and i can certainly appreciate that! four looks great on you!

DISNEYLAND!

you guys, disneyland was so fun! i built it up in my mind a lot, but that was fine because it really was great! yiayia flew down to disney with us and we spent two days at just disneyland (ain't nobody got time for california adventure). i actually like california adventure a lot, but it's not the greatest for tiny guys. we stayed at the disneyland hotel, which was so nice... we just walked out front and hopped on a monorail that dropped us off in tomorrow land inside the park. beckett's mind was blown... because obviously, and heath maybe got some brain damage from roger rabbit's cartoon spin, but other than that had fun too. beckett was so brave and went on all the things... including space mountain. his very favorite ride was the teacups, and he just thought they could not get going fast enough. and matt had that teacup flying. i could only handle one turn in the teacups and i barely made it through that. we watched a parade, bought some souvenirs, rode all the things, ate way too much junk food, and had just a great time. we also had a character breakfast one morning and matt and beckett did a little swimming in the mickey shaped pool. phew! all the things!

when we checked in at the hotel beckett got a button to wear that said his name and that it was his birthday. every single park employee we saw wished him a happy birthday by name. on our second day there, while we were sitting and watching the parade, a chimney sweeper from the mary poppins float ran over and yelled, "happy birthday beckett, old chap!" in a british accent. beckett looked over at me and with such a serious face asked, "what is going on?! does this button say it's my birthday? how do these people know?!" hahaha! i die. oh beckett, i loved being able to take you to disneyland and letting you meet minnie (you screamed with joy) and see mickey's house (your favorite spot) and experience the magic that is disneyland. we love you so!

oh, you know i took way too many pictures... this is seriously narrowed down.
