we introduced margaret and penelope to mighty-o donuts this week. actually, penelope was just there for the atmosphere and ate peas and a giant slab of butter. (okay... it may have been cheese, but it looked a lot like butter). b decided that he loves donuts now and ate most of mine. good thing i love him a lot. also, i always feel so fancy driving over the bridge into the city. why are big cities so fancy? they are just born that way, i guess. b was not a fan of the drive, mostly because the sun kept shining in his eyes and he hates that. i'm not surprised, it is terrible and he is my son after all. as a side note... what in the heck, seattle? so much sun? did you know it is december... because it is.

oh, shooooooooot. family pictures
i really could have posted every single picture from this photo shoot because i love them all so much. we feel so fortunate to be friends with the dunnes and that we get to do pictures with them because i really LOVE the way they turn out. i think nick (and anna) are amazing. i really do. BUT i will let the pictures speak for themselves. i highly, highly recommend the dunnes for family photos. also, ask anna to sing the mickey mouse clubhouse song to try and make your baby smile because it will make you smile... a lot. visit nick's website and have him do your family pics, unless you hate good pictures. which is weird.
matt's work partay
we went to matt's company christmas party tonight at the showbox. it was our second time leaving b and we pretty much found another couple with kids and spent a long time talking about beckett, so... yeah... we are those people now. anyways, here are some not so great pictures.
here is the showbox. there were some casino games, but we didn't play them. the food was really good... i have no pictures of it, i just ate it.
there was a hypnotist. he made these people so sleepy, apparently.
every year the owner of arena net gives a speech and announces the company holiday gift. we were so excited to see what it was! last year matt got an ipad. matt opening his gift...
a really expensive fancy laser gun!
matt says i can't write about how i felt about this gift...
jon and natasha watched b. thanks guys!
they took him to another christmas party. he loved it.
squishy boats
we ran to the mall today (i immediately regret that decision after we got into the mall parking lot... whose idea was that? oh yeah, mine.) i had to get some makeup and it was pretty much an emergency. anyway, we took beckett to the crazy squishy boats for the first time. there are always 8 million kids there and way too many boys who are clearly over the height requirement and being too rough and i kind of want to push them down, but other than that the boats are fun. beckett actually really loved them and would laugh and laugh just standing there. here are some terrible iphone pictures of his time there.

something is different...
we just got our family pictures back from nick (a better post is coming on them) and we love them! check out our copycat picture from our maternity shoot. what a difference a year makes. how lucky are matt and i? the most lucky.

advent time
bestie jenni sent beckett a very fancy sock advent calendar for christmas. b was very excited to open the first sock today! actually, he was really not excited because he really doesn't like socks and had no idea what was going on... but once he got to the bug inside, he was interested... very interested. i am so excited to have our very own sock advent calendar to fill every year. plus, b can't have the chocolate advent calendar yet and i felt like a jerk getting one for myself and not one for him. i mean... i still got it and am enjoying my 24 little chocolates, but there was some guilt there. but not anymore! he has his very own now. thanks for the very fun gift and tradition bestie jenni and coen!
festival of trees
beckett had his weekly penelope date at the festival of trees. it was basically a bunch of crazy themed christmas trees. beckett's favorite tree was the lego tree and penelope liked the bear tree, she spent a lot of time waving at it. beckett enjoyed a gingerbread cookie (the gingerbread was a little too intense for penelope's two teeth) and of course beckett zoned in on penelope's kale puffs too. the babes also got a chance to meet santa and mrs. claus. so... beckett freaked out. like really freaked out and penelope just stared at him like, "what is going on? should i be concerned here?" i might steal and post one of the pictures once they get posted online, we will see. i'm not sure what i will do for our future santa visits to try and prevent another melt down... time to brainstorm! really though, santa is kind of scary.
