beckett is one!

beckett had a raging first birthday party on his actual birthday. we had about 40 friends over for an old man themed party. i need to do a really, really serious shout out to jenni right now for all the party prep help. we stayed up until 4am cutting out bowties, and hanging banners, and making many, many different forms of fake mustaches, and dipping chocolate pretzel cigars, and a million other things. not too mention that we dragged an almost one year old and almost three year old all over town for three days straight buying supplies. it was totally over the top for a one year old (matt made sure i knew this), but b will only turn one once and the party was really for matt and i... because guess what? matt and i kept a helpless human being alive for a whole year! that is reason to celebrate. thanks to all our friends who came to help us party it up. b felt very loved and we feel very grateful for all the wonderful people in beckett's life!

our sweet boy turned one today. i can't believe how fast this year has gone by. i have to do a post on all his new milestones... and his party... and his cute face... and a walking video! i remember the moment beckett and i met one year ago so fondly. i feel like meeting your baby for the first time is one of the few moments in your life that not only meets, but completely exceeds your expectations. it is the most amazing. and watching him grow and become the little toddler he is today could make me cry a thousand tears. he is content and happy and a joy almost all of the time. beckett kol, we love you so much it hurts. in a good way. happy first birthday to you.

we started the new year off right... by lighting some roman candles that we had left over from the fourth of july. i only have a few terrible pictures, my camera was acting like it was physically in pain trying to focus in the pitch black outdoors, which was super annoying. we did act like the roman candles were wands and saige almost did hit me with a flying fire spark. luckily, we all avoided the er and we didn't even get arrested for our illegal use of fireworks. also, i don't think they should have dick clark hosting new years eve anymore... he is having a rough time since his stroke and it just makes me feel sad. also also, lady gaga is so weird. the end. 

also, i couldn't decide how i was going to introduce the new mystery person seen above in the picture. not say anything? play it cool? no. i guess i just now decided to go with embarrassing. it's saige's new boyfriend, will! woooooooooo. welcome to the blog, will. also, look at livi. what a creep.

beckett didn't make it until midnight (he was close... real close) for new years, but i decided to get some nakie bath pictures of him because... um... i don't really understand my logic behind it anymore. it made sense at the time. trust me. he is just so cute, it kills me.
