we took beckett to see santa. twice. two unsuccessful trips. the first time we went to redmond town center, where santa is inside a fancy house and a picture with him costs 1 million dollars. beckett talked to him and gave him high fives, but made a miserably sad pouty face when we made him sit with him. so we did not get that picture. we decided that was a practice run. and that maybe being in an intimate home setting was overwhelming. beckett still got a candy cane and we tried on some hats and got christmas gifts. the next weekend we went to crossroads mall where the santa is shadier and out in the open and weirdly still a million dollars for a photo. first we rode on some horses and we tried on hats again (weird) and got more gifts and then we went to see santa. beckett didn't cry. he was just sadly resigned. we got the picture anyway. two traumatizing visits are enough.

snowflake lane
the sigl family invited us to go to snowflake lane with them and have dinner at pf changs. pf changs was delicious, per the usual. i only got a few pictures at snowflake lane because there was a small tragedy. snowflake lane has a polar bear that walks around as seen below in this photo circa 2009...
so the polar bear stopped in front of us and beckett was excited! super excited. he ran up to that polar bear and hugged his leg. the polar bear did not notice beckett and tried to skip away, but there was an almost two year old clinging to him. his skip attempt made beckett fall flat on his stomach and then the polar bear stepped on him. oh... he was really sad about it. he really felt like that polar bear was trying to beat him up and all he had done was loved him. the polar bear felt really bad about things (i assume... i couldn't see his real face), but the whole event was kind of ruined for beckett. we'll try again next year... and steer clear of that polar bear. i do love snowflake lane still.

jane is mary
jane's class performed a nativity play before christmas and jane was cast as... drumroll... mary! i know, she's a really big deal. of course beckett was excited to see jane on stage and really wanted to go see her and i had to give him 100 candy canes to keep him in his seat. whitney and quinn also came to see the performance and whitney brought a good, fancy camera and one day i might go get those pictures from her and then i will update these far away bad pictures. jane was a wonderful mary, she looked very full of joy for somebody who had just given birth.

p and b date
penelope and beckett went on a hot pancake date to exchange christmas gifts. beckett got penelope an advent calendar which is a gift that keeps on giving, but i found out is a little disappointing when opening presents. look at penelope's face watching beckett open his magnet sets (which he loved) and then she got to open... a cheap kaleidoscope. sorry penelope. she got over it quickly and then they got on some smart phones. kids these days.

christmas card pictures
missed me? the blog fell way down the priority list with the holiday season. time for some super serious catch up before somebody special turns two. ready... set... go! first, here are some of the cutie pictures from our christmas card session(s). the kreitlows took our pictures and we took theirs and it was a pretty good idea. then when saige came home we went back to the same spot and dressed b in the same outfit so it would look like it was just one session. now you know our dirty secret. also, posing a two year old is hard. good luck getting toddler photos of your kids together baker family. ha.
