christmas eve

we made the trek down to reno for christmas and the drive was really not bad! we drove through the night and beckett slept over 11 hours of the 13 hour drive. not too shabby. we got in on monday morning and were able to just hang out until christmas eve. 

we started the evening by baking some chocolate chip cookies to leave out for santa later in the evening.

then we went over to matt's aunt elaine and uncle peter's house for a christmas eve dinner. there was a lot of people there! and we had yummy homemade macaroni and cheese. i took zero pictures. i'm lying. i took like two. beckett with his second cousin, anika (naomi and ted's baby girl). she is too cute and we were very excited to meet her. beckett thought she was "very sweetie". also, i took a picture of beckett and his twinsie shirt friend, uncle zac. beckett is eating a delicious homemade sweet potato chip... made by chef matt pennebaker.

then we went back to yiayia and papou's house to open two christmas eve presents... christmas jammies and a new christmas book, twas the night before christmas. do you like papou, uncle sean, and uncle james in their christmas jammies? they are so cool. 

then papou read the night before christmas. well... that's just an adorable tradition to start. 

last, but surely not least... we set out milk and cookies for santa! and carrots for the reindeer of course.

john came over for a christmas dinner and to exchange gifts... per the usual. i was a terrible picture taker, which is extra sad because we also exchanged our gifts with saige and i didn't feel the need to take a single photo of that, apparently. anyways, john got beckett a seahawks football and shirt and beckett loved it. here is one picture i did take. and throwbacks!

a nativity story

beckett's preschool did a christmas pagent this year. i swear to you... this alone is reason enough to put your child in preschool. the pre-k class did a nativity story (it was very precious), the 4's class sang christmas carols, and beckett's class rang jingle bells. i think that beckett and harper enjoyed doing it. although their faces in the pictures do not exactly portray joy. after the show, they served cookies and juice and all the kids instantly had sugar highs and went insane. when beckett goes crazy on sugar he apparently turns into a creepy over protective and highly affectionate boyfriend. do you like how he just has his hand wrapped around harper's neck? i don't know what to feel about that. i do know that i feel happy, happy, happy about christmas plays. i cant wait until beckett gets a real role... in two years!

we're expecting a...

beckett is getting a little brother! and for once in my life, i predicted a baby gender correctly! we are too excited to meet our newest family member in about 5 months! that seems faaaar and cloooose. weird! grow baby, grow... we'll see you soon!

(if you're wondering, i did make and bring a girl arrow and a pink shirt with me... i wasn't that confident in my prediction. we threw that waste of time girl arrow right in the garbage. i kept my pink shirt.)

snowflake lane

we met the pierces for a christmas dinner at pf changs (pf changs fried rice makes my pregnant belly the most happy) and to go to snowflake lane. snowflake lane is so fun, but so crowded. it makes me stressed. luckily, penelope and beckett mostly only cared about the lollipops and not about being able to see anything... so that's good. also, the sigl family was at pf changs and snowflake lane too! we went to snowflake lane with them last year, so it was a crazy coincidence to run into them. we were meant to be there together. sadly, i did not get any pictures of beckett giving high fives to the polar bears and reindeers, but you can trust me, it happened.

matt and whitney got horses! not really. somebody else got horses... who i think is named cortney (it's not me) and she is keeping her horses at matt and whitney's house. so we get to see horses. the kreitlows house is becoming quite the farm... dogs, cat, chickens, horses. it could really use some goats though. (that was a hint for matt k... who i'm sure religiously follows my blog.)
