highchair, baby

since beckett is 10 months now and can eat most things, we started a new tactic with our picky eater. at dinner time we set the table, make a healthy meal, and sit down together to eat. beckett has a new highchair (new to us... thanks craigslist) and he gets whatever we are having for dinner cut into tiny pieces and we just hope he tries it. we had a stir fry the other night and were so excited that beckett was eating the tiny pieces of pork. yay... a protein! turns out he was just stuffing all the pork into his cheek and i finally noticed when his face was visibly lopsided. he did eat the carrot and zucchini, but oh man, did he hate the rice. he threw it over the side of his highchair one grain at a time, looking totally disgusted about it. how did matt and i create a vegan? it's a mystery. one day he will probably wish his eating habits were as healthy as his early days... like when he finally accepts that there is nothing more delicious than a crusty carb filled piece of bread smothered in delicious dairy-riffic butter. mmm... i think there is some left over ciabatta roll in the kitchen right now...
