what is up with the starbucks red cup? like, really? people love them... are so excited for them... celebrate their arrival with more starbucks beverages. it is the most clever marketing scheme, ever. when i worked at starbucks, we would have a big company dinner party before the holiday line rolled out... and we got to see the red cup design for the season, try the seasonal drinks, see the new holiday merchandise. i worked there, i saw what a scheme it was and i was STILL excited for it. working at starbucks was more fun the month of december. so, it's cool in my book... i get it. here is what i don't get. why the red cups came out on november 1st. it's too soon. i am over a holiday sneaking up on the one before it, stealing the thunder. i am over walking into michaels in july in my tanktop and shorts and seeing aisles and aisles of pumpkins (and i love pumpkins). i am over wonderful fall getting pushed out of the way for winter. who wants that much winter? when october 1st hits, i get this panicked feeling... "the year is almost over!" really? no, it's not. there is a quarter of it left, but it doesn't feel that way. it feels like i am going to blink and be celebrating the new year. this year is scarier... i am going to be celebrating my sweet baby's first birthday. what in the heck? time to slow down. right now. no celebrating or even thinking about christmas until thanksgiving is over. we'll see how it goes. also, have you seen the nordstroms sign? love it. you've got the right idea nordstrom.
do you like this fallish red cup from my family starbucks date last night? very fallish...
do you like this bear outfit? of course you do.
