at the end of may, a friend from high school, mon-wei, came up to seattle to visit her sister who lives up here. she has a daughter, ava, who is only a few weeks apart in age from beckett. so we sent them on a blind date. at a coffee shop. it went okay. except we were there too, and having your mom's on your blind date is a little lame. although, if i hadn't been there i don't know who would have rescued beckett from the very top of the tree house play structure in the rei when he got stuck. so there's that. it's weird to see friends from your way, way past all grown up with babies. also, it's cool. thanks for taking some time out of your short visit to drink vanilla steamers with us, mon-wei and ava! my pictures aren't the best... don't judge... i was being a chatty chatterson.

it's a nice day for a white wedding
sometimes you have a friend that has four babies. and because she had a sickie pregnancy and is providing nourishment for many, many mouths, she loses a lot of weight. and she makes a comment about how she could probably fit in her wedding dress again, after over 15 years. and a 15 year marriage means a 15 year old wedding dress... which means the 90's in all of it's glory. and you think that you probably need to see your friend in that dress. but that would be weird... to make her wear her dress for no reason. so, you decide you should put on your dress too. and also some other friends should wear dresses. and it will be like a wedding dress party. and that dress from the 90's... it does not disappoint. it is awesome. and it has a veil that matches in style and awesome level. did you know that the taller your veil is the better? it means you're closer to god. i just learned that. and do you know what a silk flower bouquet means? it means you have your bouquet to use in a photo shoot 15 years later. whoa. as icona pop would say... i. don't. care. i love it!

mother's day
"mothers are all slightly insane" jd salinger
(true that jd...)
for mother's day matt planned a lovely brunch at the kreitlow's house. we had crepes and other good things, but mostly i only care about the crepes. with whipped cream and strawberries. yum. the kids crafted and we ate and hung out and took some mom pictures and it was relaxed and nice.
i hope all the moms i know had a great day and felt loved and appreciated... because our job is hard. the hardest. and also the best. sometimes the worst. mostly fun. except when it isn't. no wonder it makes us cuckoo bananas.
