for christmas we got john a gift certificate to i-fly and we went to watch him fly and go out to dinner. for some reason, john was with a group of kids and to us this was very, very funny. he was like a giant compared to everyone else. good times. and i still think this looks pretty fun. i would definitely try it if there was not a babe in my belly. probably. i also think there is no age requirement. like beckett could do it. i think maybe too soon for him though. too soon.

a nursery sneak peek
sometimes i look at the calendar and see months and months left of this pregnancy and i think, "will it never end?!" and the next moment i think... "i am going to blink and this new baby is going to be here! what am i doing with my time?!" we were definitely more prepared for beckett by this point in the pregnancy... with a pretty much complete nursery. this time, not so much. the nursery still looks a whole heck of a lot like saige's room. as in, we've done nothing. BUT that doesn't mean i'm not planning! it's just hard to be motivated this time around. especially since i know that nursery probably won't get any use for another six months. where is my nesting instinct, kick in you little jerk! at least i have been hoarding baby clothes, so our new guy won't be roomless AND nakie. anyway, i do have a color theme and a small registry and i do think this is going to be a very adorable room. when it gets done.
we are doing the nursery grey, navy, and white. with a loose (let's not get crazy over it) starry night theme. grey is such a popular decor color right now and i appreciate it. i have a lot of options. i made chalkboard looking prints for above the crib, and we are using metal wire baskets for storage, and some fun prints on the bedding and curtains. i think this room will be more modern than beckett's maybe? we'll see. here is a little sneaky peek.

tiny gymnasts
beckett and quinn went to a gymnastics class trial. it was interesting. beckett was actually pretty good at the tumbling and balancing and whatever three year olds do during gymnastics. he was not however, good at listening. any time the teacher was not engaged with him and looking directly at him, he would just take off to play on equipment he wasn't supposed to or weirdly try and integrate himself into another class that was happening. i swear the instructor (a teenage guy) spent half the class time chasing beckett around the gymnastics area. beckett is usually a pretty good listener, especially with people he doesn't know, but i think all those mats and rings and pits were just too tempting. after the class i asked him if he wanted to go back and do more gymnastics or play soccer. he picked soccer. that's fine, but we'll probably get back around to gymnastics eventually. or not. who knows. i only took junkie iphone pictures. sorry charlie.

valentine's day partay
we had a valentine's day party... for the second year, so it's officially annual. i love valentine's day and i don't think it's commercial or whatever, but i do think it is a little silly that every couple is trying to do romantic things on the same night and getting overcharged for it. so, we do valentine's day at home (with friends... that we love) and go out and do romantic things for our anniversary. plus, we love beckett... so we don't mind spending the day with him too. i love, love and pink and hearts and any reason to celebrate!
the table decor...
we had a waffle bar! you can make anything a waffle topping! anything! and you know what goes with waffles? bacon! so much bacon! and mimosas! (even if they have to be virgin...) and all things delicious. brinner is the best thing that ever was. also, i love using craft paper as a table cloth... and labels. it's all good, people.
photographing four kids is impossible. and my camera is not the best at night with a ridiculous amount of movement happening. they are surely the cutest valentine's i've ever known anyways.
don't these cute couples look so in love?
and then some more because i like them.

ava is two!
ava celebrated her second birthday and we got to help her celebrate at a pink and red party. ava is a sweet, funny little lady and we enjoy spending time with her. she is not a big talker... or laugh-er... you really have to work for it with her, which i guess makes you appreciate it that much more. she is a super big daredevil and super active, it is a mystery where she gets that from. she is also going to be a big sister soon! elisa and i are only about a week apart in due dates, so our babies will probably be besties. anyways, we wish ava the happiest of birthdays and are so happy we know you. two looks good on you, ava emerson!
