after kirkland we headed home to have lunch and i considered taking the boys to matt's work, but heath getting a nap won out on that debate. matt came home a little early and took beckett trick or treating in our neighborhood, but no photos of that. i reign supreme in the world of photo taking (you may notice that i am rarely in photos) so if i'm not there, it probably doesn't get documented.
in the evening we took the boys to a church trunk or treat event where harper and quinn go to preschool. trick or treating is pretty weird, but trunk or treating is even weirder. candy out of the trunk's of people's cars? why should we ever act like that is okay? it is a good way to get a lot of candy fast though and all the trunks had activities set up where the kids could earn their candy. so if you ignore the creepiness (which is what i am choosing to do), it is actually pretty fun. we met up with the kreitlows, the kings, and the friskes and froze our booties off getting lots of loot. ava and adele were dressed in homemade nemo and dory costumes. they were very adorable.
when we were done freezing to death, and waiting in line for days to karaoke to "let it go" on an elaborate frozen stage, we went to the kings for a soup dinner. i made the kids listen to little goblins ten, my all time favorite halloween book... buy it immediately, using the amazon link i conveniently provided for you. and heath tried to hear if his future bestie had anything to say to him about halloween. psh. happy halloween!!!

(our non coordinating shame is SO deep. i told lonnie to write a book about a dragon, a gnome, and a dog and hopefully no one will realize it was written years after 2011.)
