bye bye bakers

the bakers moved home to indiana and it's the worst. probably not for them, but for me. we miss them all terribly. before they moved away, we threw them a washington themed going away party. i helped plan it, but per the usual with all things baker i was sick the day of the party and missed it. boo. here are more pictures than you ever needed to see. bakers... we miss you every single day. come and visit us immediately. 

first day of school!

beckett is officially a preschooler! i knew i wanted him to start preschool this fall and i wanted something very part time... that was truly a school and not a school slash daycare situation and something with a christian faith influence. back in february, i started researching preschools (because preschool is insane and registers 7 MONTHS before it starts) and after several school visits, we found a perfect fit. beckett goes for a half day twice a week and it has been great. we have not shed a single preschool tear and it has really helped beckett with his separation anxiety. for the little first years, the school's main objectives are to help the children adjust to a school setting and make sure they enjoy coming to set them up for a lifetime of school success. beckett has 16 classmates (including harper!) and 4 teachers. he brings home 1 million art projects every week (so it begins) and i always hear from his teachers about how he is so sweet and considerate. gah. i die. here are lots of first day pictures...

i made schultutes for harper and beckett. it is a german tradition where you fill a cone with treats and school supplies and give it to kids on their first day of school to make the day more exciting and less anxiety filled. here is harper with hers. beckett was screaming because he instantly ripped his open and wanted to eat the donuts in it and cried when he had to wait. soo... i'm not sure how successful it was for him. oh well, happy first day of school!

harper & quinn are three!

quinn and harper had a joint birthday party this year. they are two of beckett's dearest friends so we were very excited to help them celebrate. i'm sure you're assuming they must have birthdays that are very close together, but no... not really. their party theme was camping and the party favor was a tent! beckett loves it. so, i was feeling "sick" and missed the party (sad day), but i threatened matt's and saige's lives if they didn't come home with at least 200 pictures. they did a pretty good job. i don't have much else to say because i wasn't there, but really you only care about pictures anyway. here are a lot. happy birthday to harper and quinn. three looks good on you (both).
