i have an addiction. and it is to chicken salad. i love it so much and i am always in the mood for it. and it's weird... because mayo is gross, but mix it with some chicken and a fruit and a nut and some seasonings and i'm sold! so sold. there are these really ridiculous commercials here about alcoholism (i do NOT think alcoholism is funny, for the record) where this old man yells at you from the tv... "you say you could stop if you wanted to. are you kidding me? you're addicted!!!" so, matt and i often like to accuse each other of being addicted to things, but this chicken salad thing may be true. anyways, matt made me A LOT of chicken salad this weekend with the left over roasted chicken from his pumpkin party and it is oh, so delicious!!! we used what we had around the kitchen... so this salad got apples and sunflower seeds. yum.
he also roasted the chicken bones and made chicken stock... so much chicken stock, and we had home made chicken noodle soup for dinner. mmm... the house smelled so fallish and wonderful all day and i loved it. beckett was sad and stressed about being locked out of the kitchen all day, but then he forgot to be sad and was so happy. i love that boy. and matt. and fall soup. and chicken salad!!!

welcome to the planet, maya
so, this post is a tad delayed, but i just got the chance to go and meet still pretty brand new, sweet little maya. she is the newest addition to the family that i used to nanny for, you know... before i had my own baby to take care of. maya came along almost exactly nine months after beckett... did i give somebody baby fever? actually, i probably did because manal is one of those crazy ladies who loves to be pregnant... and she got to spend a whole lot of time with pregnant cortney. anyways, everybody at their home is lookin' good and it seems that so far the dreaded transition to three children (outnumbered parents...ahh!) is going smoothly. in fact, manal still insists that the hardest transition of all... is going from no kids to one. good news for me because i already did that! and yes, if you are wondering... holding tiny, tiny baby maya made me nostalgic for a newbie baby. how soon we forget the hard part of growing and taking care of a brand new person!
congratulations to naz, manal, adam, and hana! maya is the perfect final addition to complete your family. except... now you need a dog. haha... ha.
oh! random side note... check out manal's blog on balancing kids, work, marriage, you know... life in general! it's a goodie!

emoms sale
lonnie and i got up bright and early on saturday morning to go to the emoms sale in bellevue. emoms stands for eastside moms of multiples and everything at the sale comes from a home with multiples. multiple moms also get to go into the sale early and there were a lot of multiple moms there! oh... the world of fertility drugs has really made twins and triplets more and more common. adorable... i think. anyway, the sale was crazy... but lonnie did get a fancy double stroller for a real steal, so worth it. anything for a good bargain, right?
look at those hardcore moms waiting out in the rain. except we are even more hardcore because we were in front of them in line!
it was so cold and lonnie was sad. i have no idea why that girl in the background was so happy. weirdo.
whoa... whoa... stressful.
beckett loves his new hand me down cars.
i love this wool toggle coat for b that was $7! woo.
pumpkin party
penelope's new home
last week b and i went over to visit margaret and penelope in their brand new house! wowie wow. it is pat's new home too... he was just at work, you know... how a majority of dads tend to spend their afternoons. their new house is faaaaaar away in everett, but it is a very cute little blue number and in a cutie neighborhood. it is also very close to the water and a hippy dippy co-op, which is right up margaret's alley. annnd it is a very old house and has very fancy old type things, like a claw foot bathtub and teeny tiny closet doors. so, here comes the bad news. and it is pretty bad. i didn't get my camera out until after penenlope went down for a nap... so i took no pictures of her! and she was being extra cute with beckett, she really loves him, but like a monster i just enjoyed the moment and didn't document it. on top of missing penenlope, i did a bad job at photographing the house at all. i have deep shame about it. i guess you will just have to go see the new house yourself if you are interested. below are the few pictures i did take. congrats on the new home, friends!

go matt... it's your birthday!
happy birthday to my dear hubby matt... finally he has caught up to me in age. he often likes to remind me that i am MUCH older than him; the four month gap is pretty huge. we are having a fun pumpkin party on sunday to celebrate, as for now i have to get into the kitchen to try and make the coconut chicken thai soup he requested for dinner. it has ingredients i have never even heard of in it... wish me luck. before i go... one more happy birthday! welcome to the end of your twenties. b and i love you very much!
