church bbq

last weekend our church had a bbq. here are 100 adorable child pictures. okay... it's 11. also, there are a few adults. also, we got to meet new baby benji. he is very super cute... and if you read his mom's blog, he thinks we are all conspiring against him, but i'm pretty sure we're not.

here kitty kitty

over labor day weekend, john was out of town so we were in charge of feeding his cat. beckett loves kid. or maybe it's spelled kidd? he really had to give her lots of cuddles. he also found her a refreshing beer to drink. (sorry that beckett was on your bed with his shoes on john, i am ashamed).

pacific science center

we went back to the pacific science center with the kings for harper's birthday. i was going to acknowledge that this was for harper's birthday in the title, but i am saving the title part for her birthday party... which is happening tomorrow. beckett is pretty excited about it. beckett was also excited to spend the day with his friend at the psc. i was most excited for a toddler show in the planetarium that was called, "trip to the moon" and included a dance party. the guy that led it was crazy, but good crazy. sadly, no pictures allowed in the planetarium, but trust me... it was cute. after the science center we went to dick's for burgers and fries and ate them at the park. i think harper had a pretty good time, which was good... since it was her day after all. also, if you hate my pictures and think they are stupid... you can see more on lonnie's blog.

mad science week

make something monday: flubber
why are gooey things so fun? it's a rule. we also made some pink martian mud later in the week. i got the flubber recipe from pinterest... the secret is the borax, which is hard to find, but mike sigl already owned some cause he is cray cray with cleaning supplies.

time to read tuesday: science books
here is something i learned about science while at the library. it encompasses everything! gosh. we went to pick books from the science section and the girls asked what was considered a science book. i was like, "well these experiment books and these books on the human body and these weather books and space books and dinosaur books and all these math books and"... on and on for days. science is crazy.

what's cookin' wednesday: disappearing marshmallow rolls
these were a huge flop. these are also called resurrection rolls and done at easter with kids, you know? anyway, you are supposed to roll a marshmallow in butter and cinnamon/sugar and then wrap it up in a crescent roll and through the magic of baking... the marshmallow disappears! cool. except ours didn't disappear, they leaked out and exploded all over the pan. i don't know what we did wrong... maybe the rolls weren't sealed up tight enough?

be thoughtful thursday: free lemonade stand
i don't know what makes this project science related, but something i'm sure. the girls just really wanted to do it and this was our last chance. we went to the park and gave out free lemonade and cookies we baked. it went okay... people were very skeptical of us. you know the saying, you can't get anything for free? a lot of people believe that and think you are up to no good if you say you are giving something away. hopefully, we made somebody feel a little better about humanity. we did serve the anthis girls and it was fun to see them!

somewhere fun friday: the pacific science center
such a fun place, BUT tragedy most tragic... i forgot my camera. iphone pics are all i have. sad, sad story.
